The ARLIS Central Plains chapter will hold its Spring 2006 meeting in Lawrence, Kansas. We will meet at the Spencer Museum of Art on March 16-18. Susan Craig of the University of Kansas has organized a wonderful program of stimulating speakers, exhibits, events and tours.
The meeting will kick off with dinner at Susan Craig's house on Thursday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Friday's schedule begins with breakfast at 8:30, followed by the business meeting at 9:00. The heart of the program consists of a panel discussion on three paths to digitizing an image collection and a presentation on GIS applications for art, architecture, and urban planning. To cap the day, we will view the exhibition "Flowers, Dragons and Pine Trees: Asian Textiles in the Spencer Museum of Art," dine at Teller's Restaurant, and enjoy coffee and dessert at Mari Russell's house.
Two tours are planned for Saturday: Studio 804 Homes and the Haskell Indian Nations Photography Archives.
