You are invited to attend an important workshop being held at ARLIS/NA 2006
in Banff.

Date and Time:  Friday, May 5, 2006   9am - 4pm

Title of Workshop:
Digitization Strategies for Preservation and Access

Presenter: Howard Brainen, TWO CAT DIGITAL

This workshop will include the following:
-Best practices in digitization for libraries;

-Current technology choices for digitizing books, serials and catalogues; as
well as photographic film and prints (including real examples of resulting
image files using various technologies);

-Latest trends in technical metadata capture;

-Solutions for image file storage, backup and preservation;

-Extensive question and answer.

If you have attended one of my "Managing a Digitization Project" workshops,
you will find this an excellent "next step" and update on new technologies
and trends. But there is no requirement to have attended a previous
workshop. Everyone involved with, or contemplating, digitization will
benefit from attendance.

Please email me off-list if you would like some additional material covered.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in beautiful Banff!
