We are putting in a form/genre subject heading & I'm noticing some weird (to me) things appearing in it. According to the catalogers here the subdivision "art and the war" should be a $v. Why is this a form/genre when it's a book & it's *about* the war? It would make sense for individual works of art, but it makes no sense to me for a book. What is the rationale behind this? Has $v replaced $x in a significant number of headings? csj (out of cataloging for a long time) __________________________________________________________________ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] For information about joining ARLIS/NA see: http://www.arlisna.org/join.html Send administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/arlis-l.html Questions may be addressed to list owner (Judy Dyki) at: [log in to unmask]
