The closest I ever got to this type of data was the old UNESCO
statistical reports but am not sure these are still being done by
subject area for publishing. The last classic study on this topic was
Paula Gabbard's article in ART DOC, Spring 1995, "Book Price and Book
Production Study in the Fine Arts" pp. 19-21.
