From the Q-STUDY List: This e-mail the release of "The Art of Andy Warhol: Anticipating Male Objectification," by Jessie McComb, a new broadsheet published by my company as part of The Pamphlet Project. The poster-broadsheet discusses the work of the legendary pop-art pioneer Andy Warhol in relation to what it meant for the place of men in art. Art Historian Jessie F. McComb foregrounds some concerns of Warhol's art that find significance resonance in the Metrosexual Movement decades after Warhol. The broadsheet discusses several aspects of Warhol's art including Warhol's objectification of men and reconfiguring of the gaze, his relationship to consumer culture and the high culture validation of male sex symbols. Details, including an extract and a downloadable teaser are available online at http://www.redearthindia.com/pamphlet/issue_1.1.html The broadsheet can also be purchased from the same URL.
