User Services Assistant

ARTstor is seeking a User Services Assistant. User Services provides 
support and training services to the more than 500 institutions 
participating in ARTstor (including libraries, visual resource and 
instructional technology departments) as well as end users (including 
faculty, curators, and graduate and undergraduate students). 

Responsibilities 

The User Services Assistant is an entry-level position, with responsibility 
for providing front line support services to individuals at institutions 
licensing ARTstor. Reporting to the Director of User Services, t he User 
Services Assistant will work closely with the rest of the ARTstor User 
Services team. Specific responsibilities include: 

- Provide technical support and help desk services (via phone and email) 
related to both technical issues (hardware, software, network 
infrastructure) and content of the ARTstor Digital Library. 
- Assist with the maintenance of online and printed documentation and 
training materials 
- Execute installation procedures for new participating institutions 
- Help organize site visits to participating institutions for the user 
services team 
- Administrative assistance and other tasks as assigned by the Director of 
User Services 

Qualifications 

The User Services Assistant should be energetic and flexible, should have 
very good personal a nd communication skills, should have the ability to 
work closely with a small, dedicated team in a fast paced environment, and 
should be committed to the delivery of high-quality services to users in 
the educational and arts community. 

Required: Bachelor's degree in a liberal arts discipline, in computer or 
information science, or in a relevant technical field; excellent written 
and oral communication skills regarding technical and non-technical 
subjects; comfort and fluency in a variety of software programs and 
computer platforms; demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with 
professional staff members in all sectors, internally and externally. 
Willingness to work evening, night and weekend shifts in rotation with 
other team members. Previous user support experience a plus.
