Ellen Thank you for adding that info. I should have clarified that my institution (rather than saying many academic institutions) does not pay a higher salary based on the extra degree. We are not considered faculty here which explains the different with Univ of Hawaii. The 2nd MA is a ticket to apply - you still have to be performing well, be a leader, etc. to actually get promoted. >>But keep in mind it may not have a monetary benefit. By that I mean >>many academic institutions do not pay a higher salary based on the extra >>degree. |((| Ellen Chapman, MLS, MA, CA |))| Archives & Manuscripts Department |((| University of Hawaii at Manoa Library |))| (808) 944-7656 __________________________________________________________________ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] For information about joining ARLIS/NA see: http://www.arlisna.org/join.html Send administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/arlis-l.html Questions may be addressed to list owner (Judy Dyki) at: [log in to unmask]
