A patron has inquired: "At the base of the statue, Teaching Christ, in the south transept of Chartres Cathedral, there is a figure kneeling next to two baskets or holding vessels. Who is represented by this figure and what is in the two containers?"

The person has us stumped but the containers appear to be holding loaves of bread. The patron thinks that one may be holding fish and the other may be holding bread. Even after looking through our resources, the identity of the kneeling figure is still a mystery.

Can you help?
