Director of Information Resources The Place: The University of Calgary is a comprehensive, research-intensive university with almost 30,000 undergraduate and graduate students, 17,000 continuing education students, and 5,000 faculty and staff. The Opportunity: Information Resources integrates the Archives and Special Collections, Image Centre,The Nickle Arts Museum, the University of Calgary Library, and the University of Calgary Press. Convergence among these units has enabled us to achieve leadership in teaching information literacy, building collections that support learning, research, digitization and publishing in conventional and electronic formats. Information Resources has an exemplary record of collaboration with internal and external partners. Collaboration with Information Technologies, for example, has led to the development of our internationally recognized Information Commons. Regional partnerships are expanding and now include the Calgary Health Region Information Network and the Campus Calgary Digital Library. A cornerstone of the Campus Calgary Digital Library is an expansion of the Library building — the number one capital priority of the University of Calgary, with groundbreaking scheduled for April 1, 2006.
