THE RYERSON AND BURNHAM LIBRARIES at The Art Institute of Chicago is seeking
a qualified candidate who will be Head of Reader Services.  Reporting to the
Director of Libraries, responsible for delivery of access, reference,
research, and instructional services to museum staff and members, School of
the Art Institute students and faculty, and visiting scholars.   Will be
responsible for representing the Ryerson and Burnham libraries and their
collections to diverse constituencies. Will also manage a staff of eight
employees.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE will possess an ALA-MLS, with an advanced degree in
art, art history or related field preferred.   Must have five years’
progressive responsibility in museum or university art library with some
experience in administration. The candidate must also have substantial
technical knowledge of subject-related databases and technical issues and
potential.  Demonstrated subject knowledge of art, art history or related
