Does anyone recognise the following quoatation or proverb? Is it by any chance a Chinese or Native American proverb? "If you wish to influence the stream of history, you must step into the water." (Or something like that.) I have searched everywhere I can think of but the closest I've come is a quote by Richard Nixon about being stuck in the middle of the stream of history and he couldn't get out. (His version of, "I've fallen and can't get up". Another classic!) Mona L.
