Researches, creates and edits records using primary and secondary source material for inclusion in the Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA), the Provenance Index, AATA or other databases for print and/or electronic distribution. Writes abstracts or brief texts, and ensures editorial accuracy of data. Analyzes appropriate resources; constructs, revises, expands and classifies new and existing database entries in a variety of languages which are generated either in-house or by external collaborating institutions. Investigates and evaluates books, journals, art auction catalogues, archival inventories and other related technical and art historical resources to select appropriate material for inclusion in project. Researches and establishes new terms and creates authority records. May participate in development of editorial policies and training curricula. Maintains contact with international colleagues, collaborators and constituencies. Requires proficiency in on-line searching, utilizing controlled terminology within databases. Qualifications: Ph.D. in art history; 7 plus years editing, cataloguing, abstracting, indexing or comparable experience in the filed of art history; reading knowledge of two European languages or fluency in at least one European language.
