Serials Manager

Mr. and Mrs. Allan C. Balch Art Research Library
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art Research Library invites applications
for the position of Serials Manager.
Duties: perform serial check-in, cataloging, acquisitions, periodical
collection development. Reference duty as scheduled up to 6 hours/week.
Qualifications: MLIS preferred. BA in Art History or related field. Two
years minimum library experience working with serials. Familiarity with
standard cataloging procedures: AACR2 and LC classification. Working
knowledge of 1 or more foreign languages preferred.
The Research Library, in addition to its main facility,
services 9 branch libraries housed in curatorial departments, the
Conservation Center and the Rifkind Center for German Expressionist
Studies. The collection contains approximately 160,000 volumes, as well as
housing and circulating the two most recent years of auction catalogs. There
are approximately 315 current periodical subscriptions.
