Greetings.

I am in search of a recent article, likely published in Architectural
Digest, about
John Loring...my indexing resources are not current enough...anyone familiar
with such a thing...?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Seeking Speakers for Collection Assessment Workshop for
Banff conference

> Following the Collection Development Discussion Group meeting held at
> ARLIS/NA conference in Houston on Tuesday, April 5 from 8-9:30 AM, we
> are putting together a proposal for a workshop on Collection Assessment
> for the Banff conference to be held from May 5-9th, 2006. We are
> seeking speakers for this workshop. If you would be interested in
> speaking or can recommend someone please let us know by the end of the
> day Thursday, May 12th. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
>
> Brief description of the workshop content:
>
> We propose that the Collection Assessment Workshop be offered as a four
> hour workshop that would include two parts: collection assessment
> strategies for beginners, i.e., how to develop a new subject area for
> your collections, and how to use assessment to help make weeding,
> storage and format decisions. The second part of the workshop would
> include demonstrations on the specific collection analysis tools such
> as WordCat Collection Analysis, and Library Dynamics' Spectra and
> NATCP, followed by the hands-on examination of these tools. The goal of
> the workshop is to offer general collection assessment strategies, and
> to demonstrate the capabilities of different collection assessment
> software tools that could be utilized by both the beginners as well as
> more experienced bibliographers and budget decision-makers.
