Note: Additional Google responses indicate that the main phrase is "Mother of the Arts," and a number of things are noted as Mother of the Arts (architecture, philosophy, landscape architecture, etc.). Also, it seems that there have been lots of individuals who have used or made reference to this phrase or concept. But the question still persists: Is there an original source for the phrase or concept "Mother of the Arts?" Any further thoughts would be appreciated. I thank the individuals who have responded already.
