Thanks to everyone for your help. Art librarians are the best! The database in question is either Bibliography of Native North Americans or the American Indian portion of American National Biography. Dan Goldstein also mentioned the North American Indian Biographical Database being developed by Alexander Street Press. It appears to be very promising. Mona L.
