Hello fellow ARLIS members, I just wanted to take a second of your time to thank all of you who have sent me messages of congrats on the new web site. There's no way I could have done all the work alone, however. I ESPECIALLY want to thank Jonathan Franklin for backing me up and answering many of my technical questions (i.e., "now WHERE does this page go???"). In the weeks leading up to the launch of the new site, Jonathan helped me out IMMENSELY by posting all the incoming Annual Reports & doing the day-to-day maintenance on the old site so that I could concentrate on making the new site pages. We also need to thank Jonathan Franklin (again), Jack Robertson, Jeanne Brown, Judy Dyki, Margaret Webster and Lee Sorensen for serving on the ad-hoc web site redesign task force. Together, over the summer, we collaborated on the design & organization for the new site and selected a web design firm, Q Limited (Ann Arbor, MI), to realize our plans. Q Ltd. came up with the lovely graphics & overall design of the site, and their team of people was wonderful to work with. Our overall goal in "renovating" the site was to provide everyone with a nicer-looking, more functional, more robust web site. So you may notice some new features, such as the ability to access the Members Area from EVERY page on the site (just click the "Member Login" link in the upper right of your screen). Also, we've moved some of the documents OUT of the Members Area, such as the bylaws and the strategic plan (in the new "Admin Docs" section, under "Organization"). I hope you enjoy both the new "look" and the new features... keep checking back, because we've got even more planned! Next week is Spring Break here at Denison, which means I'll have time to get to some of the things currently missing from the site, such as: ArtDoc Reviews, Bibliographic Notes, and conference photos from before 2004. I thank you all for your patience. If you have any questions or concerns (or if you're just wondering what the heck I did with a page you used to use) please don't hesitate to contact me. thanks, everyone--and see you in Houston!!! nedda h. ahmed ARLIS/NA web site editor __________________________________________________________________ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] For information about joining ARLIS/NA see: http://www.arlisna.org//membership.html Send administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/arlis-l.html Questions may be addressed to list owner (Kerri Scannell) at: [log in to unmask]
