The Teaching Librarians Discussion Group will meet in Houston on
Tuesday, April 5 from 3:00-4:30.  

The flexible agenda (so far) includes the following items.  On-the-spot,
spur of the moment suggestions will also be welcome.

 

1) Welcome; introductions

2) Any new agenda items?

(status/update?)

4) Discussion item:  share examples of successful in-class active
learning exercises/activities for any library instruction/information
literacy instruction topic -- using library access tools, finding
materials in the home library, evaluating print and/or electronic
information.

5) Discussion item:  teaching students to Google: do you? If so, what do
you tell them (such as using the advanced search screen and how to
evaluate what they find)?  

6) Discussion item:  What kind of teaching collaborations have you had
with other librarians or faculty? Why did you do it (how did it come
about) and what's worked?

7) Happy trails... until we meet again?
