Agenda

 

1.       Summarize minutes from last year’s meeting in NYC http://www.arlisna.org/conf2004/proceedings/diversity.html

 

2.       Update on Liaisons with the Strategic Planning Committee: Lucie volunteered in NYC.  Lucie will continue as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee.

 

3.       Shannon has volunteered to be liaison to ALA Diversity groups. Confirm.

 

4.       There will be no Diversity Forum this year.

 

5.       Introduce Student Travel Award winner.

 

6.       Introduce New Co-chairs, who will begin chairing the meeting now.

 

7.       Update Column Editor – who wants to do it this year?

 

8.       Membership (who was in NYC meeting), (recruiting?)

 

9.       Discuss our Student Travel Award that was turned down by the executive board—Miguel has a copy—does membership want to resubmit—discuss and decide

 

10.   Recruitment Brochure - Discuss the Diversity Membership Brochure proposal that was never received by HQ—do we want to resubmit? If the Committee chooses to resubmit, we can include a separate request for notification.

 

11.   Working Group to identify/communicate with library schools?

 

12.   Discuss our Diversity Panel for this year’s conference that was also turned down—we were hoping to have a panel so we could strengthen the Diversity Committee's Position with ARL, ALA and other library organizations

 

13.   Program Ideas for the Banff 2006 Conference

 

14.   Other work (web site—are we getting new space on the ARLIS server?)

 

15.   Ways to improve communication and visibility to make it more likely Diversity Committee proposals will succeed

 

16.   Propose future conference (meet in Mexico—Cancun, Monterrey, other suggestions???)

 

17.   Confirm directions/projects for next year.
