Dear ARLIS/NA Members and Potential Members, I am pleased to announce that the new ARLIS/NA Web Site (AWS) will be available in the very near future. Web Site Editor Nedda Ahmed is finalizing details for the roll-over so that it can occur this weekend. The old site will be taken off-line late Friday evening (9pm Pacific time) and the new site will completely replace the old by the evening of Sunday March 6th. If you need to use material on the AWS in the next few days, please be aware that the site will NOT BE AVAILABLE this Saturday and Sunday. One suggestion is to bookmark the conference web site so that your conference planning will not be interrupted! The new navigation and graphics, provided by Q Ltd. of Ann Arbor Michigan (http://www.qltd.com/index.html), have been designed with the input provided by ARLIS/NA members in mind. Also, Nedda has worked diligently to update contents and coding to take full advantage of the site's information architecture. There will be some pages that are not yet reformatted, but access to all content that is currently up on the AWS will be available on the new and improved site. There may be quirks and whimsical behaviour in the new site right at its launch, so please bear with us as everything is ironed out. Our choice was to delay several weeks for additional testing and revision, or to get the site up in time for your review before the conference. We chose the latter, but be assured that any comments as well as suggestions for new or revised content are most welcome. Plans are underway to implement new AWS features and editorial oversight to facilitate delivery of news, information, and professional resources to your desktop. Please take note of the call for candidates for the AWS News & Features Editor and the Professional Resources Editor position, and submit your application if you are interested to Jack Robertson, Publications Committee Chair, [log in to unmask] Jeanne Brown ARLIS/NA President __________________________________________________________________ Mail submissions to [log in to unmask] For information about joining ARLIS/NA see: http://www.arlisna.org//membership.html Send administrative matters (file requests, subscription requests, etc) to [log in to unmask] ARLIS-L Archives and subscription maintenance: http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/arlis-l.html Questions may be addressed to list owner (Kerri Scannell) at: [log in to unmask]
