Although it's somewhat out of date, I recommend Lois Swan Jones' book, Art Information and the Internet: How to Find It, How to Use It, published by Oryx Press.  Oryx was acquired by Greenwood; their website is <www.greenwood.com.  Oryx used to post updates on their website; not sure Greenwood does this.  But Lois' book is a great place to start.

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Online art databases

I work in a public library and am wondering if there are any good online databases for art?

Anything that covers information on artists, to images of art.

At present I specifically looking for Richard Diebenkorn, but I'm sure I will need more information in the future about other artists.

Thank you

Katina
