Hello,

This month's update to Grove Art Online features an exciting new
enhancement to this invaluable art resource. For the first time since
its publication, Grove Art Online now displays images in position in
the text of an article. This development enables students,
researchers, librarians, and scholars to view great works of art while
reading about them in hundreds of articles on artists, art forms,
cities and countries, and stylistic periods in art history. 

Over 1500 high-quality images and line drawings from Art Resource and
the print edition of The Dictionary of Art have been selected to
enrich major articles on western and non-western art. Thumbnail images
display within an article and can then be enlarged to provide complete
caption information. Now you can view Johnson's "Going to Church"
while reading about African American art, or see the Great Wall of
China, or read the Manet biography and study "Dejeuner sur l'herbe." A

We will continue to add hundreds of new images to Grove Art Online as
we believe the marriage of images and text is crucial to creating a
better research and educational resource for present and future
audiences. We welcome any feedback you may have and hope that this
