In  conjunction  with  its  inaugural  exhibitions  Power  + Faith + Image:
16th-19th  century Philippine Art in Ivory and Multiple Originals, Original
Multiples:  19th century Images of Philippine Costumes, the newly re-opened
Ayala  Museum  is  pleased  to announce an international symposium entitled
Manila,  A  World Entrepot: 16th - 19th Century Exchange of Objects Between
Asia, Europe and the Americas from June 24-26, 2005 to be held at the Ayala
Museum, Makati, Philippines.

The  three-day symposium will focus on the linkages and exchange of objects
and  influences  among  Asia,  Europe  and the Americas during the 400-year
Spanish   colonial  period  and  early  American  colonial  period  in  the
Philippines,   with   special   reference   to   convergences  in  art  and
architecture,  linguistics  and  material culture. The museum is pleased to
