One of the main topics under discussion at the meetings of the Committee on Cataloging: Description & Access (CC:DA) at the upcoming midwinter meeting of ALA in Boston is the draft of Part One of what will become AACR3. The draft itself is not allowed to be distributed, but there is a background document which is posted at http://www.libraries.psu.edu/tas/jca/ccda/docs/chair22.pdf that provides a brief version of the objectives and principles of the revision, a list of major features (abridged from the introduction to the draft), and instructions for sending comments. If anyone from the ARLIS/NA community has comments or questions about the draft or the process I would be glad to try to answer them.
