Please circulate this request from Rebecca Rushfield to all of your
artist friends and colleagues:

Many CAA (College Art Association) members have felt the impact of the
Patriot Act on their lives and work. The Services to Artists Committee
wanted to provide them with a safe means through which they could
relay their stories to others. It will thus collect testimonies-- be
they about the denial of a visa or the censorship of an exhibition--
and post them (with or without names) on the wall (to be named
"Democracy Wall") outside of the room in which the session will take
place at the upcoming CAA conference in Atlanta (February 16-19,
2005).

Because CAA members are visually oriented and may find text alone
inadequate to the job of telling their stories, images and short
videos are also being solicited.

Rebecca Rushfield, a member of the CAA Service to Artists Committee,
is collecting the testimonies by e-mail ([log in to unmask]) and by
postal service mail (66-10 149th Street,#4C, Flushing NY 11367, USA).
