Hi, I am trying to find information on two artists for a patron who has signed works by each.

1. James Northcote Born England, emigrated to US in 1858, studied and worked in NYC.(1822-1904): He is listed in Who was who in American Art but we would like more detailed information.

2. I have not been able to find information on the second artist. These are aquatint etchings of landscapes, signed Augis. The titles are obscured by a round stamp; one may say Carnivale but the picture is a not very cheerful landscape with trees in the background. The owner believes that this may be a pseudonym for an H. Dupont who worked in post WW1 years, painting landscapes of postwar France/Belgium. He got this info from a dealer's site on the web.
