The following special funding requests, submitted by chapters to the
Executive Board for deliberation at the mid-year board meeting on July
26-27, were approved for FY2005:
ARLIS/Mountain West: $500 for a joint conference with ARLIS/Central
Plains at Santa Fe, NM in October 2005.
ARLIS/Ontario: $500 for a joint conference with ARLIS/Western New York at
Toronto, Ontario in May 2005.
ARLIS/Southeast Chapter: $250.00 for a regional meeting in St. Petersburg
in October or November 2005.
ARLIS/Southeast Chapter: $250.00 to support expenses incurred for the
30th anniversary of the LoPresti Award, which recognizes excellence in art
publications issued in the southeastern United States.
ARLIS/Southern California Chapter: $500 for a Summer 2005 Artists' Book
Symposium that will focus on standards and descriptors for cataloging
artists' books.
Chapter chairs have been asked to share the results of their projects or
events, in particular any information that might be of interest to all
ARLIS/NA members. The treasurer will ensure that these reports are posted
on the ARLIS/NA website. Before the next round of special funding requests
are emailed next spring, the special funding guidelines will be updated
and clarified. We will also try to make available more examples of
successful requests and will discuss the revised guidelines at the chapter
chairs meeting at the Houston conference.
