Saturday, October 30th, ARLIS/SC is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its
founding. Please join your colleagues and friends at this gala event. The
party is open to all ARLIS/SC members, present and past and all ARLIS/NA
members, past and present who might be in town that day.

Please let us know if you are planning on attending and if you are bringing
a guest; we want to have plenty of food and wine for everyone.
Please RSVP by this Wednesday, October 27 to Chapter Vice-Chair Nancy
Norris at <[log in to unmask]> or 310-206-5853

Join us from 2-5 p.m. at Joan Benedetti's wonderful art-filled, ocean-view
home in Santa Monica, meeting and greeting long-time and newer members of
the chapter and honoring our founders. Consider making it a Santa Monica
art day by spending the morning at Bergamot Station. Consider making it a
Santa Monica Bay weekend by also attending the Chapter's Fall Meeting and
Artists' Books Roundtable at the Getty Research Institute on Friday,
October 29th.

Please RSVP by this Wednesday, October 27 to Chapter Vice-Chair Nancy
Norris at <[log in to unmask]> or 310-206-5853 to let her know you're
planning on attending and/or that you have a lost" member's contact
information. Tell us when you first joined ARLIS and if you served as a
Chapter officer or contributed in some other special way. Or perhaps you
have an ARLIS story (funny, inspiring) to tell or some memorabilia to share
DIRECTIONS TO BENEDETTI HOUSE IN SANTA MONICA

2533 6th Street is in the Ocean Park neighborhood of Santa Monica. It's a
tall (4-story) seafoam green (really!) house just north of Ocean Park Blvd.
and a few blocks east of Main St. (away from the ocean). The easiest way to
get here (unless you're already in Santa Monica) is:
Take the 10 west to the 4th St. exit.
Staying in the left-hand lane, turn left (south) onto 4th St.
Go south across the freeway and keep going south across Pico Blvd.
Turn left at the next street, which is Bay. (There's a small church--the
Phillips Chapel--on the southeast corner here.)
Go east up the hill on Bay to 6th St.
Turn right on 6th. The first stop sign will be Hollister. You will see a
big park (Los Amigos Park) on the right, which becomes the John Muir
Elementary School campus. Keep going on 6th to 2533, which will be on the
left (east) side of the street, directly across from the John Muir School.
You will be able to park on either side of 6th St. or on the north side of
Ocean Park Blvd. next to John Muir School. It is possible that there might
be some kind of school event in progress, but if not, you may be able to
park in the John Muir School parking lot, which is directly across the
street from the house.
