The Deadline for submitting all proposals is May 31, 2005. Program proposal forms are now available: http://www.ala.org/ala/olos/libassocofcolor/JCLC_programproposal.pdf <http://www.ala.org/ala/olos/libassocofcolor/JCLC_programproposal.pdf> The Steering Committee of the Joint Conference of Librarians of Color 2006 includes representatives from the American Indian Library Association (AILA), the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA), the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA), the Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA), and REFORMA, the National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish Speaking. The JCLC '06 "Gathering at the Waters" conference will include a one-day pre-conference and four days of tracked programming, encompassing-issues programs and individual and combined celebratory events. It is also a conference directed towards diversity within library and information studies and the research and development aspects of community outreach. It will establish a forum for the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information on both new and existing ideas. JCLC '06 seeks the best ideas in providing library services on the topics below and invites proposal submissions for contributed papers, panel sessions, workshops, poster sessions, and roundtable discussions. This conference will feature speakers from academia, public, school, private industry and government agencies. Program costs: In accordance with Conference practices, presenters cannot receive honoraria nor have expenses reimbursed for presenting conference programs.
