I am very pleased to announced that the Getty has awarded a $28,500 grant to ARLIS/NA to provide travel assistance to participants from Latin America to attend our Houston conference April 1-6!! Thanks to the Getty, to Ted Goodman for leading this effort, and to all those who provided input in the process. More details and the formal press release are below. The 33rd Annual Conference is organized around the theme of Beyond Borders: Collaborative and Explorative Ventures in Arts Information. The theme, and Houston itself, has sparked some creative and substantive program sessions and tours that will result in a learning experience participants will long remember. Hosted by ARLIS/NA's Texas-Mexico Chapter, the 2005 Conference will offer Latin American conference participants networking and professional development opportunities through interaction with ARLIS/NA colleagues.
