If someone has a copy of the Dictionnaire de biographie francaise in their collection, inclination to help me out on a general reference question, and a little time, I wonder if it would be possible to look up Charles Xavier Thomas de Colmar and fax me the entry at 508 999 9240. He was born in Colmar (hence the de Colmar part of his name) and invented the arithmometer, which was the first practical-sized--no bigger than a piano--manufactured calculating device. There is nothing in our collection (or as far as I can find on the Internet) that has any substantial biographical information on him. I appreciate any help. thanks.
