Sara--
There has been quite a lot written about Crackerjack
lagniappes: _Cracker Jack Prizes_ by Alex Jaramillo;
_Cracker Jack Collectibles_ by Ravi Pina; _Cracker
Jack : The Unauthorized Guide to Advertising
Collectibles_ by Larry White.

Two books about Cracker Jack toy designers would
be very helpful, as the designers created toy prizes
for other companies, too: _A Surprise Inside! The
Work and Wizardry of John Walworth_ ; and _Cloud Nine_
by C. Carey Cloud.

The Cracker Jack Collectors Association puts out a
newsletter; unfortunately, their website isn't very good.
A website called the Cracker Jack Box, however, is
excellent: http://pw2.netcom.com/~jeepers/CJBhome.html .

Happy Meals toys are avidly collected and hence there
are many buy/sell websites for them. The history is
harder to track down, but one of Joyce & Terry Losonsky's
books might have some good info: _Encyclopedia of Fast Food
Toys_ or maybe _McDonald's Pre-Happy Meal Toys from the
Fifties, Sixties, and Seventies_ .

LC uses the heading "Premiums (Retail trade)" if you choose
to look for more books.
