The artist you are looking for is John Norval Marchand - there is info about him in Samuel's Encyclopedia of Artists of the American West, as well as Who was Who in Am. Art.

Does anyone have any information on an artist by the name of J. N. Marchano?  He supposedly painted for Saturday Evening Post around 1912. The painting in question is of 2 cowboys on horseback. I've looked on the internet, askart.com and google, and in the following books: Covers of the Saturday Evening Post by Jan Cohn, The Illustrator in America 1880-1980, by Walt and Roger Reed, The Illustrator in America, 1900-1960s by Walt Reed, and America's Great Illustrators by Susan E. Meyer.  Any suggestions of where to look will be greatly appreciated.
