The Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the world's finest museums, seeks a
Department Head to assume all managerial and administrative responsibilities
relating to the collection of nearly one million images. Will lead the
effort, in collaboration with senior managementt, in the re-engineering of
the department's mission, structure and functions. Will establish
departmental policies and priorities.
REQS: Seeking a visionary who will provide strong leadership and strategic
direction to a staff of over 20 in developing a world-class visual resources
library. 10+ yrs of senior level experience in the management and
development of an image collection and an M.A. in Art History required.
Knowledge of one or more western European languages and current digital
imaging technologies are essential as is a strong business sense.
