WHAT: ARLIS/Central Plains Chapter Spring Meeting WHEN: June 10-12 WHERE: St. Joseph, MO and Atchison, KS With a population of about 75,000, an excellent art museum and multiple listings on the National Register of Historic Places, St. Joseph, MO offers an ideal location for the Spring 2004 ARLIS Central Plains meeting. Victorian homes, church spires, red-brick hotels and libraries, and schools built of quarried stone, all compete for our architectural interest while the rich history of the Pony Express and Jesse James are part of the storied past. Susan Craig, University of Kansas, has organized an excellent program including tours of the Albrecht-Kemper Museum and a talk by Wilbur Niewald, former KCAI teacher and artist, whose work will be on exhibit at the museum. During your stay there will be an opportunity to visit the Pony Express Museum and witness the completion of the 1,966 mile Pony Express Re-Ride at 8 p.m., Friday, June 11. The officers and members of ARLIS/Central Plains Chapter cordially invite you to "attend, and bring a friend."
