Visual Resources Division meeting, Saturday, April 17, 3:30-5:00 (location TBA) The ARLIS Visual Resources Division (VRD) annual meeting will be held at the 2005 ARLIS/NA NY conference on Saturday, April 17, from 3:30-5:00 (location TBA). If you work with an image collection (film, photographs, slides, digital images, etc.) or have an interest in the subject matter, please come; new members to ARLIS are especially encouraged to attend and get involved in the division. WHAT IS THE VRD? The Visual Resources Division (http://www.chatham.edu/users/staff/dnolting/) of ARLIS/NA is composed of ARLIS/NA members who are involved in the documentation of the visual arts. This includes the acquisition, organization, retrieval and circulation of visual resources materials, primarily slides and digital images, but also video, film, filmstrips, photographs, microforms and other non-print materials. Special attention is focused, through subcommittees and with the Visual Resources Association (VRA, http://www.vraweb.org ), on standards for images, data, and collection staffing, as well as guidelines for Visual Resources Professionals. AGENDA *Revisions to VRD description and duties (in response to the dissolution of the Visual Resources Advisory Committee (VRAC)) *Call for VRD Vice Moderator - The VRD is currently looking for nominations for the position of VRD Vice-Moderator. Duties include: reports news, articles, and information pertinent to the group; writes ARLIS/NA Update column 3-4 times per year; takes VRD meeting minutes. The Vice-Moderator will become the Moderator at the 2005 conference.
