Dear colleagues,
Would anyone have references to articles or resources on the advisability
of various fire suppression systems in libraries? We would like to make an
argument against a sprinkler system, and I have already located
A Primer on Disaster Preparedness, Management and Response:
Paper-Based Materials (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records
Administration, 1993),
which includes the
Smithsonian Institution Staff Disaster Preparedness Procedures (Washington,
D.C.: Smithsonian, 1993)
and
Emergency Salvage of Flood Damaged Family Papers (Washington, D.C.:
National Archives & Records Administration, 1993).
I've also located
Artim, Nicholas. "Cultural Heritage Fire Suppression Systems:
Alternatives to Halon 1301," waac (Western Association for Art Conservation)
Newsletter, Volume 15, Number 2, May 1993, pp. 34-36.
Any other sources that address appropriate fire suppression systems for
libraries would be helpful.
Thanks.
