CALL FOR ARTICLES: SPECIAL ISSUE ON THE DIGITAL TRANSITION A special theme issue of the VRA Bulletin, the journal of the Visual Resources Association, is being planned for the end of 2004 on the topic of the Digital Transition. This very pertinent topic is obviously having a dramatic impact on the visual resources, library, and information science professions and the very way information about images and text will be collected and delivered in the future, as evidenced by discussions on listservs, conference presentations, symposia and workshops, and daily activities in the workplace. Proposed articles can come from a variety of viewpoints: case studies from your own institutions, papers from conference sessions on the topic, proposed project plans, association and consortium initiatives, archival projects, digital standards, vendor updates on images and software, intellectual property issues, data standards and cataloging issues, user surveys, technical developments, collaborations between image collections and text collections, online resources, conceptual issues, etc. Please submit a one-page abstract by April 1 to John Taormina, Editor, VRA Bulletin, Dept. of Art and Art History, Duke University, Box 90764, Durham, North Carolina, 27708-0764; ph: 919-684-2501; fax: 919-684-4398; e-mail: [log in to unmask] Thank you. -- John J.
