The Lois Swan Jones professional development award, offered by the Texas-
Mexico Chapter, has been presented to Elizabeth Schaub. This year’s award,
the twelfth annual, carries $750, funded by the membership. The award
honors Professor Jones by underwriting travel to the ARLIS/NA conference.
Application procedures for next year, and a list of past winners is at
http://www.arlis-txmx.org/awards_fellowships/awards_fellowships.shtml.

This year’s pool of applicants reflected the breadth and depth of the
Chapter’s membership. Elizabeth’s exemplary work in the profession, and
for the organization, past, present and future, is outstanding, and we are
honored to help in sending her to represent Texas-Mexico at the meeting in
New York.

Elizabeth is the director of the Audio Visual Resources Collection at the
University of Texas School of Architecture, and has been active in
libraries, museums and archives since 1988. She serves as the Secretary
for the Chapter, and program co-Chair for the 2005 national conference of
ARLIS/NA, to be held in Houston.

Warmest congratulations to Elizabeth, and thanks to everyone who
contributed to make the award possible this year.

Merriann Bidgood, University of Houston
John Hagood, National Gallery of Art
Mark Pompelia, Rice University
