The Museum of Modern Art Library is looking for a library systems person for
8-10 hours per week for up to a year to assist staff with maintenance,
reporting, and special projects.  Responsibilities include:

Being the library's advocate between technology vendors and the MoMA IT
staff
Monitoring system backups and the performance of the library system in
general
Designing queries in Microsoft Access for special projects and statistical
purposes
Programming batch operations on the database as they relate to regular
operations and special projects
Installing and upgrading software

The desired candidate must possess:
Knowledge of any library system, with a preference to Endeavor's Voyager,
Familiarity with Microsoft Access for making custom reports against the
library database
Familiarity with relational databases and Structured Query Language with a
preference to Oracle
Knowledge of Unix (Oracle running on Sun Solaris), Microsoft Windows and
Novel networks
Familiarity with supporting technology in a library environment (ODBC,
Z39.50, software upgrades, peer-to-peer networks, client-server software)
