Good afternoon,

Our visual resources facility loans out not only slides, but a variety of
equipment. This includes laptops, data projectors, digital cameras and
camcorders, tripods, and even extension cords.

Currently, we manage the circulation of this equipment in a very simple
way: we have a reservation book and a sign-out book.

Since the circulation of equipment has become more and more prevalent over
the past several years, we feel it is time to move on to something more
robust and reliable.

We are looking to replace this tired and true system with an electronic
one, but we don't want to re-invent the wheel in order to do it.

My question to the list is: do any of you know of or use a simple software
solution to track items of this type?
We are not interested in electronically tracking our slides at this point,
but we are looking for a simple system to track equipment loans and manage
reservations for said equipment.

I would imagine that some smaller print collections might use a system of
this type that might be modified to work with equipment rather than print
publications.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Eric
