Two Fashion Research Questions:

If there is anyone knowledgeable in the area of 19th century British/French dressmakers/seamstresses, I would appreciate your assistance.  Please reply to [log in to unmask]

1.  I am attempting to find information on two fashion designers/seamstresses that worked in France in the latter part of the 19th century.  References to "Mmes Descou and Elise" have appeared in books on Charles Worth (their more famous contemporary) however, I have been unable to locate any information on the designers.

2.  In Penelope Byrd's book - Nineteenth-Century Fashion there is a reference to a Mrs. Brown and a Mrs. Heath - sending hats and patterns to country customers.  A faculty member is actually trying to track down any information on Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Heath?

I have checked various history of fashion resources, as well as American Periodical Series online - but have found no leads.....
