Dear All, There is talk here at my college's library of eliminating all fines for overdue materials (not including recalls, replacements, or reserves), and I have been asked to join a committee to discuss such a plan. I have my own concerns, but I would so appreciate hearing about experiences from those of you whose libraries don't fine for overdue materials, and especially from those of you who experienced a transition from having fines to then eliminating them.
