I am currently in my first semester of library school. I have a BA in fine arts, and I am most interested in art librarianship. Right now I am working on a paper about the value of an art librarian, preferably in a museum or academic setting. I've been having some trouble with my research, and I was wondering if any of you could provide some insight. For those information professionals who work in a museum library or academic library, I would greatly appreciate it if you answered any or all of these questions. (It's even better if you are in northern California.) Please email responses to [log in to unmask] and be assured that I will respect your privacy and confidentiality. Also, feel free to email me if you have any questions about this. Thank you! 1. What sort of library do you work in? Where are you located (state or region is fine)? 2. What is your title and what is the salary range in your profession? (I've been having a hard time finding any numbers. Everything I find says commensurate with experience.) 3. How do you measure the output of your organization? (e.g. Schools may get funding based on student test scores; companies know profits. But I have no idea how art libraries or museums would measure output.) 4. How do you contribute to your organization? 5. Where are you located? (State or region is fine) Also, if anyone knows of other resources (e.g. current salary surveys), please let me know. Thank you for your time!
