Joslyn Art Museum (www.joslyn.org) is seeking a Head Librarian for the
Milton R. and Pauline S. Abrahams Art Reference Library.  Joslyn Art Museum
is Nebraska’s largest and most distinguished art museum, featuring works
from antiquity to the present. The Abrahams Library holds over 30,000
volumes on art, history of the American West, and Native American history
and material culture.

The Head Librarian is responsible for the day-to-day management and
long-term administration of all Library collections and services.  Duties
include research for the museum staff, selection and acquisition of library
materials, cataloging, development of policies and procedures, budget
creation and administration, and the supervision of one paraprofessional and
library volunteers.  Required qualifications: M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited
school or M.L.S. anticipated shortly, previous library experience in
positions of increasing responsibility, excellent communication skills,
familiarity with online library systems, and proficiency in database
searching and Microsoft Office.  Preferred qualifications: B.A. or M.A. in
Art History, previous art library experience.  To apply, please send a
