Paraprofessional staff, members of advisory groups including instructors for academic and school libraries are encouraged to attend.Anime (Japanese animation) and Manga (Japanese comics) are not just for kids. Both are rapidly becoming more popular in the United States with all ages. For example in the six month period between the beginning of January and the end of June there were 438 video releases, some being box sets, and 226 releases of manga in graphic novel format. This gives libraries plenty to chose from.I will cover the two mediums and go into several of the differences between them and similar materials produced in the United States. There will be ongoing discussion as I cover each topic. Video-clips will be shown and translated manga will be available to look at.For more on anime and manga see the presenter's web site at:http://www.koyagi.com and http://www.baynetlibs.org/AnimeEvent.pdfFor reservations include the following information:Person(s) attending:Library / Institution:E-mail address for confirmation reply:Send the form, with a check made out to BayNet, to :BayNet Anime Event c/o Gilles Poitras868 54th St.Oakland CA 94608For late reservations e-mail at: [log in to unmask]
