Director of Library Services The Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg (ILIS), a private art and design college, has an immediate opening for a Director of Library Services to manage its Learning Resource Center. This position reports to the Dean of Education and functions as a Department Head. Responsibilities include overseeing all library operations such as: reference, cataloging, acquisitions, collection development, periodicals maintenance, database management, bibliographic instruction, and desk scheduling. Other duties include budget development, long range planning, representing and marketing the library to both internal and external communities, functioning as a liaison to faculty, and committee membership. Some evening and Saturday work may be necessary. Responsible for the overall supervision of staff –currently 1 paraprofessional and 9 student workers. Future library growth will include an additional professional staff in the coming year. Requirements: MLS from ALA accredited institution Management experience Library experience in an academic institution, preferred Recent cataloging skills/working knowledge of OCLC Connexion Excellent communication and interpersonal skills An interest in art and design is desirable ILIS offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
