The Palace of the Legion of Honor had a spectacular exhibit last year of the
Logan Collection called The Art of the Book (I think). The collection was art
books by artists from the turn of the 20th century up to the turn of the 21st
century. Some of the books were absolutely indescribably gorgeous. Others just
brilliant work and exquisitely or never-again produced bindings. Don't know
what might be available for outside use but if anyone is in San Francisco, do
arrange to go to the Achenbach room to see these.
