Dear Collective Wisdom:
The recent mystery novel, The Flanders Panel, is about a 15th century
painting called The Chess Game, by Pieter van Huys. What we need to find
out is whether refers to a real painting or not. There was a 16th
century Flemish painter called Peter Huys, but I find no reference to
this painting. I suspect it is imaginary. Can anyone verify?
Thanks
Stan
