Position Summary: Art & Architecture librarians provide high-quality public services in subject areas related to Pratt's art & architecture collection. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to collection development, instruction, committee and task force work within and outside the Library, and such other activities as are deemed necessary for the smooth provision of information services. Job Duties: This full-time, tenure-track position assumes responsibility for reference services and instruction, and acts as liaison to programs in the School of Art and Design. The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate are to: -Participate in the reference and information service programs, including the production and revision of library guides; -Provide individual and group instruction -Participate in training of clerical and college work study students; monitor their work flow; -Contribute to the library's public relations efforts; -Serve as a liaison to the classroom faculty by developing and maintaining appropriate departmental contacts to identify reserve items, identify materials to be added to the collection, and assist with incorporating informational resources into the curriculum -Coordinate library exhibitions, including campus communications, installations, and interpretation; -Oversee special and ongoing projects related to the maintenance and integrity of the art & architecture collection; -Participate in library and institutional committees and other activities as appropriate. -Perform all other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education & Experience: ALA accredited MLS; academic background in art and/or architecture required; experience in providing library public services in an academic context, experience in providing library related instruction and experience with online systems required. Other: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential, as well as the ability to work effectively and patiently with a culturally diverse population.
